Our Ziply Fiber internet review
Ziply Fiber’s Fiber Gig internet plan is one the best ultra-high-speed internet plans we’ve seen, offering an incredible speed of 1,000 Mbps for just $50—a very good deal. Ziply Fiber’s other plans also offer a lot of value.
Ziply Fiber is a Fiber and DSL internet provider in the northwestern US. Fiber internet is the best kind of internet you can get; DSL is one of the worst. So, Ziply Fiber’s value as an ISP heavily depends on whether or not you have access to its fiber internet plans.
Also, this ISP provides great flexibility with no contracts or data caps.
Pros
- Great value gigabit plan
- Fast fiber internet
- No contracts
- No data caps
Cons
- Price hikes on some plans after 12 months

Ziply Fiber’s speeds: What’s best for you?
While Ziply Fiber has many plans, its Fiber Gig and Fiber 2 Gig plans, both less than $100, are the only practical choices for most customers. The Internet 300/300 plan is another contender for only $30 per month.
The DSL plan offered by Ziply Fiber is $50 per month and offers 115Mbps. You may want to consider this plan if you have minimal bandwidth needs or a tight budget.

Ziply Fiber’s 2 Gig Fiber and 5 Gig Fiber plans are extremely fast but unnecessary for most customers—paying for more internet speed than you need provides little benefit. Try our quick “How much internet speed do I need test?” to find the perfect speed for you.
Ziply Fiber’s data caps
Ziply Fiber internet plans have no data caps, so you don’t have to count gigabytes or worry about any overage fees.
Our favorite plan: Ziply Fiber’s Fiber Gig plan is one of the cheapest gigabit (1,000 Mbps) internet plans. It provides a tremendous 1,000 Mbps of internet speed for only $50 per month. Plus, it’s a fiber internet plan—the best kind of internet connection you can get.

Ziply Fiber internet fees
Cost | |
---|---|
Equipment Fee | $10.00/mo. |
Installation Fee | $90 |
Other Fees | 9% of past-due balance ($10 max.) |
Ziply Fiber’s late fees require a little calculation. They charge you 9% of your past due balance up to a maximum of $10. Ziply Fiber’s rental and installation fees are fairly standard. You can avoid the rental fee if you use your own router (fiber) or modem and router (DSL).
Ziply Fiber internet installation, equipment, and contracts
Ziply Fiber installation and equipment
Ziply Fiber charges a $90 installation fee, but the installation fee is waived for new customers signing up for Ziply Fiber 50/50, Ziply Fiber 200/200, or the Internet Gig plan.
Ziply Fiber only charges $10 /mo. to rent a router. This also includes a modem for DSL customers (Fiber customers don’t need a modem). Ziply Fiber’s $10 monthly equipment rental fee is competitively priced—most ISPs charge more.
Ziply Fiber internet contracts
Ziply Fiber internet plans have no contract term. You’re free to change or cancel your service at any time without worrying about any early termination fees.
Ziply Fiber price hikes
Some Ziply Fiber internet plans increase in price after the promotional period expires. The Fiber 50/50, Fiber 200/200, and Fiber Gig internet plans each increase in price by $20 per month after the 12-month promotional period.

Xfinity and Earthlink are two of Ziply Fiber’s main competitors. Neither of these ISPs can beat Ziply Fiber’s Fiber Gig plan, which delivers 1,000 Mbps for just $50 per month. Also, Ziply Fiber has no contracts—both Xfinity and Earthlink require 12-month contracts for most internet plans.
For just internet, we don’t recommend going with either of these providers over Ziply Fiber, but if you’re interested in bundling your internet package with TV or phone service, Xfinity has a lot to offer. Xfinity provides TV, phone, and even mobile discounts to its internet customers.
Earthlink’s prices are much higher than Ziply Fiber’s. For example, Earthlink’s 1 Gigabit fiber internet plan costs $99.95 per month for 1,000 Mbps of internet speed. Ziply Fiber provides the same 1,000 Mbps speed for only $60 per month.

Is Ziply Fiber internet right for you?
Ziply Fiber is great if you select the Fiber Gig plan—we really can’t overstate how good of a deal it is. Also, Ziply Fiber has no contracts or data caps. An affordable ultra-high-speed internet plan with no strings attached all over a fast and reliable fiber connection—what’s not to like?
However, the tune changes if you don’t go for the Fiber Gig plan. None of Ziply Fiber’s other plans match the outstanding value of the Fiber Gig plan. One step below the Fiber Gig plan, the Fiber 200/200 charges $40 per month for just 200 Mbps—a decent speed but an average value, at best. Ziply Fiber’s high-tier plans are way too expensive to make sense for most customers at $120 and $300 per month.
If you can’t afford $60 per month or have very minimal internet needs, such as a one-person household or just use the web for browsing and email, it’s worth it to at least check offers from other ISPs as Ziply Fiber’s low-tier plans don’t offer a ton of value.

Our HighSpeedInternet.com editorial team bases our analyses on customer input from our annual customer satisfaction survey, results from our speed test tool, and proprietary internet provider data on speeds and pricing. To strengthen our research, we look closely at provider contracts to get hard-to-find information on price hikes, data caps, and extra fees, and we keep tabs on the latest news reports and online reviews.
