Fairfax Residential Internet Coverage

Tucked into the metropolitan area of Washington DC and Alexandria, the city of Fairfax, Virginia has many internet service provider options for its residents.

Fiber internet is widely accessible in Fairfax through Verizon Fios, which covers almost all of Fairfax with its fiber network. Areas near Monument Drive and Chain Bridge Road are excluded from this growing service area.

Verizon has a nearly identical service area, also providing coverage to Monument Drive while still leaving part of Chain Bridge Road out of its network.

For cable internet fans, through Xfinity, high-speed internet is available in a small part of northeastern Fairfax. The service area is limited to a small area north of Custis Memorial Parkway.

RCN makes high-speed internet available to most of Fairfax. However, service stops short of a large part of eastern Fairfax prior to Holly Park and Holly Park Estates.

Finally, through Megapath, customers in all of the major Fairfax neighborhoods have access to DSL and copper wireline. Service stretches from Chantilly in the west to Mantua in the east, running from Pender and Fairlee in the north to Fairfax Station in the south.

Verizon Home Internet

Beatrice S | 09-20-2023

It is not a linear issue to rate an Internet Carrier due to the individual experience ,location, staff and ever changing technology issues. My personal experience with Verizon is (just pure luck) is a very knowledgeable staff, polite, patient, and got the problem solved.

Verizon customer service don't follow with action what they preach on the phone. Whenever something goes wrong, multiples calls to customer service is required to get a knowledgeable representative to look into the matter. If a solution is found, it primarily benefits Verizon with the customer always getting stuck with the short end of the stick.
